Eldon Cresap looks over a collapsed deck on the back of his home at 3426 Rocky Point in north Bismarck on Saturday morning. Cresap said five people were on the deck Friday night cooking up a day's catch of walleye when it fell. Cresap said his brothers-in-law, Jerry Gainsforth of Bismarck and Richard Gainsforth of Salt Lake City, received injuries when the deck fell and were taken to the hospital by ambulance. He said Richard Gainsforth received burns from the hot barbeque grill landing on him. "And we didn't get to eat any of the fish," he said. Cresap said the house is seven years old and believed the deck to be structurally sound before the collapse.
