Kristen Chuppe of Bismarck tosses another item into the dumpster in front of 410 Main Avenue in downtown Bismarck on Tuesday afternoon where a major exterior renovation will be getting underway beginning today. The exterior brick veneer will be chipped off to reveal the original facade of the building that in recent years was home to the Golden Dragon, a Chinese restaurant. However for many Bismarck old timers it was the home of Service Drug and Camera Exchange, known as perhaps the finest camera store between Chicago and Seattle in the 1950's and 60's. The current renovation began in February said Chuppe. A window and door store will be opening when remodeling is complete sometime in May she said.
