Norma Lundstrom, center, brought two bags filled with old bills, and other assorted mail belonging to her parents to Mandan's Golden Age Services where a shredding machine was destroying papers no longer needed on 10-20. At left is Judy Austad with the North Dakota Attorney General's office and at right is Steve Heydt of Starion who is holding a letter with a postmark from nearly 70 years ago. "This is all from my parents who lived in rural Watford City," said Lundstrom "but it used to be called Banks, North Dakota. It was a community north of Watford City 25 miles and at one time had a dance hall that I can remember hearing about where they would dance upstairs until the floor was shaking." The shredding event was sponsored by the West Central Vulnerable Adult Coalition. Approximately 10-15 people brought in items to be shredded said Tammie Johnson of the West Central Human Service Center.
