St. Mary's Central High juniors Steven Schaffner, left, and Justin Klabunde started the last day of classes with a horseback ride to school on 5-13 morning. Schaffner said they started riding at 6 a.m. and made the 3 mile trip in about an hour arriving at St. Mary's campus in central Bismarck shortly after 7 a.m. Both said they received a lot of waves from motorists with some stopping to take photographs on their cellphones. Above, Schaffner leads Hunter and Klabunde leads Amigo on the school grounds. Both are Sorel quarter horses.
